Go

I recently went to my absolute favorite place I love to go every season --Terrain at Styers in Glen Mills. It’s kind of like an adult version of an amusement park for those who have a passion for gardening and food. Many are surprised to hear Terrain is owned by Anthropolgie, the clothing lifestyle store. It is their garden concept store and I’m surprised there are only two of these stores in existence (the other one in Westport, CT) because the brand’s slobber-worthy sense of style is oozing once you walk in. My heart goes wild in this place. I could move right in. I love to go there to get inspired as my eyes peruse the latest in gardening, food, books related to gardening and food, home furnishings, bed & bath items as well as some jewelry and accessories. The place is pricey so I typically go to get inspired. You can’t pay a visit without eating at their greenhouse cafĂ© where their menu features many local farms. The bread that comes in a clay pot and their homemade flavored butters to start off the meal are insanely good.

Each visit gives me a chance to see what the latest thing in food is. Last time it was truffle oil in everything and the time before it was every kind of salt you can imagine. This time it was pickles. Pickles in jars in a variety of flavors, pickle flavored potato chips (offered by more than one brand), books on pickling. Then I check out Williams-Sonoma to see they have a Perfect Pickling Kit as well as a set of jars for sale already labeled with ‘Perfectly Pickled’ on each jar. Many brands are getting in on the pickle craze like Deep River Snacks, McClure's Potato Chips and Crisp & Co. which offers Ginger Pickles and Pint Pickles made with Victory brewing company's Prima Pils.
